Market Day - B & E

Hello people! Today I will blog about our Market Day that happened yesterday.

We are all so busy setting up the things we needed to put in our stand and getting ready for the things we needed to be done before our market day start. We all have 30 minutes to get ready for the market day, some of us started to wonder off since they already finished getting ready. We found so many cool stuff and delicious food's and drinks! We all have this token we needed to buy the stuff we want but we have to exchange those tokens with real money. We all have this bag where we put our token money so it wont be lost. The total we got for our game that we run was $69.50 and it's quite big to be honest, at first we actually thought people won't even come to our stall and play our game but it turned out really good and we even have fun ourselves even we are the one who is running it.

We also found to many good stuff we could buy, but i never really bought anything other than food😂. I only have 8 dollars and i wasted it on food, but it's worth it anyways. For our stall, the game that we were running was Balloon pop dart game.

Everyone has a turn on going out to wonder off and buy stuff we wanted but only two people at a time so the two people left in there stall can guard and organize the stall if needed, but they can't leave only one people left in the stall to guard. Anyways Everyone look like they had fun.

I will show you a picture of our stall and me and my group.

That's all for my blog today! Thank you for reading!

Daylight Savings NZ

 Daylight Savings NZ

1.When does Daylight Saving happen each year in New Zealand?

Daylight saving time 2020 in New Zealand will begin at 2:00 am on
Sunday
27 September
and ends at 3:00 am on
Sunday
4 April 2021
All times are in New Zealand Time.

2.What year did Daylight Saving start in New Zealand?

1927

3.Why was Daylight Saving started?
The Inventors of DST
The history of DST in New Zealand started more than 20 years earlier. ... However, in 1909, the parliamentarian Thomas Sidey proposed to move the clocks 1 hour forward in New Zealand's summer period to allow for an extra hour of daylight in the evenings. They wanted to save money so that they wont waste electricity and They use the sun's energy for doing things instead of electricity.

4.Read the following article and write a paragraph (3-8 sentences) on whether or not you think that Daylight Saving should continue in New Zealand.

https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/107348361/times-up-should-we-end-daylight-saving-in-new-zealand

Maybe?, Changing the clocks does not create extra daylight, but it causes the Sun to rise and set at a later time by the clock. So, when we spring forward an hour in spring, we add 1 hour of natural daylight to our afternoon schedule.

5.Do all the states in Australia have Daylight Saving? Who does and who doesn’t?

Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia all have daylight saving, while Queensland, the Northern Territory and Western Australia do not.

6.Write 3 tips to help others adjust to Daylight Saving this weekend.

Sleep early, adjust your clock, Sleep on a sleep routine.

7.Show your completed work to the teacher and post it on your blog.

Tell different stories

Hello people, Today I will blog about Inclusiveness “Tell Different Stories”

We have this 23 vocabulary Matching exercise we needed to answer, We have all the definitions and the word of it.

This is what it looked like.

Cliche

  • A phrase or opinion that is overused and betrays a lack of original thought

Minorities

  • Sociological. Louis Wirth defined a minority group as "a group of people who, because of their physical or cultural characteristics, are singled out from the others in the society in which they live for differential and unequal treatment, and who therefore regard themselves as objects of collective discrimination".

Connections

  • A relationship in which a person or thing is linked

Inequalities

  • Difference in circumstances, lack of equality

Universally

  • Meaning by everyone; in every case

Resistance

  • The refusal to accept or comply with something

Other

  • Refer to a person or thing that is different or distinct from one already mentioned or known about

Democratic

  • Supporting  democracy or its principles; a form of government in which the common people hold political power and can rule either directly or through elected representatives.

Bigotry

  • Intolerance towards those who hold different opinions than you

Abstraction

  • Something which exists only as an idea

Dogmatism

  • To say something is true, without consideration of evidence or the opinions of others

Austerity

  • Difficult economic conditions created by government measures to reduce public spending

Generalisations

generalisations about others if we know close to nothing about them; if they remain an abstraction.

Patriarchy

  • A system of society or government in which men hold the power and women are largely excluded from it

Relevant

  • Closely connected or appropriate to what is being done or considered

Bias

  • Prejudice for or against one person or group, especially in a way considered to be unfair

Systematic

  • Acting according to a fixed plan or system; methodical

Rehumanising

  • Reversing the damage done by dehumanising

Disparate

All these seemingly disparate events have one fundamental thing in common: a systematic hatred of and bias against people who are regarded as different; the dehumanisation of the “other”.

We also have this article we needed to read to answer 6 questions and put the right answers in it. As you can see in the table there are many deep words that people rarely even know. Well some..We that’s all for my blog today since i don’t really have anything to talk about anyways. Thanks for reading and Have a nice day!

And it's also kind of raining that time and some place we need to measure is outside.

Last table-We did some exercises and counted the number of how much we got and listed it on the table.

Solar Oven - Energy Source

Hello. Today I will blog about Last week's we did a science project we made. We made S'mores, if you don't know what that is, I will tell you.

S'mores is a chocolate biscuit with marshmallow on top of it, melting it Using a Solar Oven. And if your thinking about how we used/made a Solar Oven, It's easy i will tell ya.

Solar oven:

Materials we used: Aluminium Foil, Cardboard, scissors and tape (Sticks if wanted to add more design)

How we did it: We took three pieces of cardboard and put it all together in a shape where we think it's possible for the sun to make it reflect to the S'mores. Then we put the Foil in the place were we think it can reflect to each other and made the S'mores melt easily(Take one Biscuit and one Marshmallow and put it on the top of the biscuit). And finally we made our S'mores and put it in the Solar oven, We placed our S'mores where we think it's possible for it to melt fast and waited. Since the sun is not good enough, we used some magnifying glass to help the sun to melt the S'mores easily.

I will show you the Solar oven we made. It only show's the inside since the outside don't do anything.

 This is it.

I can't really show you what our S'mores looked like but i will show you an example of what it looked liked form google.

This is what it looked like(Well kind of)

It's really good. Try to make it at home by your self.

Thank you for reading.

I hope you had fun reading it!
