WW1

how did New Zealand change with so many men away at war between 1914-1918?

Lower population at the time of Independence WW1.

How were families affected by WW1?

The event of the First World War had a vast impact on New Zealand's society. Families and communities all over New Zealand were heavily impacted by the event of the First World War. From a population of just over one million, over 120,000 young New Zealand men were enlisted and 103,000 New Zealanders served overseas. This was of impact to the New Zealand society as the absence of these young men during the course of the war exerted influence on families, women, communities as well as the work force.

"I will answer the rest of the questions here since I don't have enough time"

What did the soldiers struggle with after the war?

Conditions were harsh. The area possessed no natural water source, so there were constant shortages. Water, food, ammunition, and other supplies arrived at Anzac on ships and were landed on the beach with great difficulty.

What international event caused the 1930s depression?

The Wall Street Crash of October 1929 is generally recognized as the event that triggered the Great Depression. In New Zealand, the effects of the crash were not immediately apparent. But from 1930 export prices began to plummet, falling 45% by 1933.

What sport and activities were enjoyed following the depression?

People liked listening to sports and news, as well as jazz and swing music. Singing telegrams were popular. During the 1930s, football was almost as popular with Nebraskans as it is today. High school teams were sources of pride for entire communities and the University of Nebraska team was becoming a national force.

Resting Pulse Rate:

Resting pulse rate: Your pulse rate when you are lying down. We measure it on your neck or on your wrist. We are measuring the beat of your heart rate each minute.

Active pulse: Your pulse rate when you have been doing some exercise.

10m run: 35

Beep test: 3.3

Beep test 20m

"In pairs, number 1 line up on the base line, number 2 is watching/encouraging and remembering the results that you finish in.

Run the beet test; you must run with the "beep" sound. Try your hardest.

Once you have finished, go to your partner and time your heart rate for 30 seconds after Record this result.

Record the level you achieved on your table beside "beep test"

Find out how far in total you ran (each length is 20m)

To do this you will need to:

Number of runs x the length of each shuttle run."

Science The moon

Science

THE MOON

This blog is about The moon.

The Moon is the Earth's satellite, It has a distance of

382,000 kilometers away from Earth (236,840 miles).

The moon’s mass is just under one-eightieth that of Earth,

its volume just over one-fiftieth. Unlike Earth, the Moon

lacks a large iron core, and therefore the Moon has a much

lower overall density than Earth.

For three hundred more years the Moon remained an object of astronomical study, with the collection of data about its shape, size, movements, and surface physical properties, as well as mapping. Observations, along with a combination of natural and terrestrial analogs, were not advanced enough technologically until the middle part of the twentieth century that the volcanic origin of its dark plains and the impact origin of its craters and basins could be considered as settled. In the 1960s, a program of geological mapping, using techniques such as crater counting and overlapping relationships, confirmed and elucidated the nature of geological units and the order in which they were produced.

Three facts i learned

-The moon is about 326,840 miles

-The outermost surface of the moon is called the crust. Dark, flat regions of the moon called lunar maria are composed of the rock called basalt.

-The same side of the moon always faces Earth, and is called the near side. Various landmarks are visible from Earth. Some of them are the Ocean of Storms, the Sea of Serenity, and the Sea of Tranquility.

Healthy or Unhealthy relationship

Today I'm gonna post about the Healthy or unhealthy relationship task we are doing in our 5 Ways of Wellbeing "How am I doing" task.

This are the questions that's given for us answer.

-Turning a relationship that is unhealthy around? What things could you do to improve them to make them healthy and avoid conflict?

-Define what a good relationship looks like to you?

-Who is someone that you class has a good relationship with and what are the characteristics that they demonstrate?

We have to make a DLO of answering those questions so here's my DLO about it in a slide.

If you can't read it properly you can just make it bigger, it would really help because the font colour is pastels, so I'm sorry about that.

Smart relationship Lesson 1

Smart relationship Lesson 1
Stepping up

Today we have been learning about how to make a proper blog and how to make helpful and thoughtful comments on others' blogs.

And we have been learning this because we needed to improve our blogging skills and commenting amazing comments on other people's blog.

Here is one of the task that me and my Partner did so far.

In this activity that we did, me and my partner read each comment that has been written down and see which one make sense and is on topic. We put thumbs up if it does make sense and on topic and thumbs down if it doesn't make sense and not on topic of what the blogger written on his/her blog.

This kind of learning is actually kind of fun, because we learned how we can improve our blogging skills and also improve our commenting skills to other people's blog.
